Entertainment Week Africa 2026 Model Casting: How to Apply in Lagos

If you have been looking for a legitimate modelling opportunity in Lagos, this is one worth checking now.

Entertainment Week Africa 2026 has opened its official Model Casting application for this year’s event.

Entertainment Week Africa runs from 17 to 22 November 2026 in Lagos, Nigeria, bringing together different parts of Africa’s creative economy including fashion and beauty, film, music, technology, art and live production.

Its fashion programme includes The Runway Coterie, scheduled for 19 November 2026.

The opportunity is real. The application is live. But submitting a form does not automatically mean you have been selected.

Here is what aspiring models should know before applying.

IMPORTANT: DXC Models is not the organiser of Entertainment Week Africa. This guide is provided to help models understand the publicly available official application. Always submit through the official EWA platform and verify any later communication directly with the organisers.

Is the Entertainment Week Africa 2026 Model Casting Open?

Yes.

At the time this guide was published, Entertainment Week Africa’s official application platform showed Model Casting as an available application category.

You can access the official form here:

The public application page does not currently display a closing deadline.

That means applicants should avoid waiting unnecessarily if they already have the required information ready.

01 What Is Entertainment Week Africa?

Entertainment Week Africa describes itself as a pan-African platform connecting people working across the continent’s creative economy.

The 2026 edition takes place in Lagos from 17 to 22 November under the theme Closing The Gap.

Its Fashion & Beauty track includes designers, stylists, beauty founders, retailers and models, alongside programmes including the Fashion Lab and The Runway Coterie.

The Runway Coterie is described by EWA as a fashion showcase celebrating African creativity, craftsmanship and cultural identity.

02 What Does the EWA Model Application Ask For?

The current official application asks models to provide information including:

  • First and last name
  • WhatsApp phone number
  • Email address
  • Gender
  • Age range
  • Height
  • Portfolio link
  • Instagram or TikTok profile link
  • State of residence
  • Country of residence
  • Whether you have previously walked the EWA Runway Coterie

Applicants are then asked to review and submit their information.

This tells you something important before you even begin the application:

Have your information ready before you open a casting form.

03 Know Your Correct Height

Do not guess.

Do not add two inches because you think it will improve your chances.

And do not copy an old measurement that you have never verified.

The EWA application specifically asks for your height.

Submit your actual current height using a clear measurement format such as centimetres or feet and inches.

Fashion castings often use physical requirements when matching models to garments, designers and production needs.

False measurements usually create problems later when the model appears physically for fitting or production.

04 Your Portfolio Link Matters

The form asks for a portfolio link.

That means you should think about what someone sees when they click it.

A portfolio does not need to contain fifty photographs.

It should make it easy for a casting team to understand:

  • What you currently look like
  • Your body proportions
  • Your face clearly
  • Your modelling ability
  • Your range where relevant

Avoid filling a portfolio with heavily filtered images that make it difficult to determine what you actually look like.

If you are still building your book, strong clean photographs can be more useful than a large collection of weak images.

05 They Are Asking for Your Social Media Too

The application requests an Instagram or TikTok profile link.

This does not automatically mean you need thousands of followers.

But it does mean your public digital presence may become part of how you are viewed.

Before submitting, look at your own page as if you were a casting director seeing you for the first time.

Ask yourself:

  • Can someone easily identify me?
  • Are there clear recent photographs of me?
  • Does my profile accurately represent how I currently look?
  • Is there anything public that could create unnecessary confusion?
  • If I post modelling content, does it show useful ability?

Do not suddenly turn your entire Instagram into a fake agency portfolio overnight.

Just make sure the account represents you properly.

06 Do You Need Previous Runway Experience?

The current public form asks:

“Have you walked the EWA Runway Coterie before?”

Applicants can indicate yes or no.

The accessible application page does not state that previous EWA runway experience is mandatory.

So if you have not walked the event before, answer honestly.

Do not claim experience you do not have.

07 Is There a Height Requirement?

The application asks applicants to submit their height, but the public form currently available does not display a specific minimum or maximum height requirement.

That distinction matters.

Do not allow random social-media comments to convince you that EWA has published a requirement that is not stated on the official application.

Submit accurate information and allow the casting team to decide whether your profile fits what they require.

08 Is There an Age Requirement?

The current application asks applicants to select an age range.

However, the publicly accessible form does not display one simple stated age cutoff on the page itself.

Applicants should therefore follow the options provided inside the official application and avoid relying on unofficial age requirements circulating elsewhere.

09 Does Applying Mean You Have Been Selected?

No.

The official process indicates that each application is reviewed by the relevant EWA team.

Submitting your details means you have applied.

It does not mean:

  • You have been shortlisted
  • You have been invited to a physical casting
  • You have been booked
  • You are confirmed for the runway

Wait for official communication before making assumptions.

10 What Should You Do After Applying?

Once you have submitted:

  • Keep your phone reachable
  • Monitor the email address you submitted
  • Check WhatsApp regularly
  • Keep your measurements current
  • Continue practising your walk
  • Keep your schedule flexible where possible
  • Do not repeatedly message organisers demanding an immediate response

And most importantly:

Continue pursuing other legitimate opportunities.

One casting application should never put your entire modelling career on pause.

11 Prepare for the Possibility of a Runway Casting

If an applicant progresses further, being attractive alone may not be enough.

Runway casting can involve evaluating:

  • Walk
  • Posture
  • Movement
  • Confidence
  • Direction-taking
  • Body proportions
  • Current measurements
  • Professional behaviour

Do not wait until an invitation arrives before learning how to walk properly.

Preparation should happen before opportunity.

12 Your Walk Should Not Be a TikTok Performance

One common mistake with new models is over-performing.

Runway walking is not about adding every dramatic movement you have seen online.

The walk should support the garment and respond to the direction of the show.

A casting director needs to see that you can:

  • Walk consistently
  • Control your pace
  • Turn cleanly
  • Maintain posture
  • Adjust when corrected

Personality matters.

Control matters too.

13 If They Ask for Polaroids Later, Keep Them Simple

Models sometimes destroy useful submissions by trying to make simple digitals look like editorial photographs.

If a casting team later asks for polaroids or digitals, follow their instructions exactly.

Normally, the purpose is to see the model clearly.

Avoid:

  • Heavy filters
  • Extreme retouching
  • Beauty effects
  • Distracting backgrounds
  • Complicated styling

The goal is accuracy.

14 Watch Out for Fake EWA Casting Messages

Once a visible casting opportunity begins circulating, scammers may sometimes copy the name of an event or organisation.

Protect yourself.

Start from the official EWA website:

ewafrica.com/apply

If somebody later contacts you claiming to represent EWA and requests something unusual, verify the communication before sending money, documents or sensitive information.

A casting opportunity being real does not mean every message using its name is real.

15 There Is No Public Deadline on the Current Form

At the time of publication, DXC could not find a closing date displayed on the official public Model Casting application page.

That means we are not going to invent one.

Applications are currently open.

If you are interested and your materials are ready, apply through the official platform rather than waiting for an unofficial deadline circulating on social media.

If EWA publishes a deadline or closes the application, this guide can be updated accordingly.

Before You Submit: DXC Quick Checklist

  • Correct spelling of your name
  • Active WhatsApp number
  • Email you actually check
  • Accurate height
  • Correct age information
  • Working portfolio link
  • Correct Instagram or TikTok link
  • Correct state and country of residence
  • Honest previous-experience information

Then review everything once before submitting.

DXC VIEW

Open casting opportunities are useful because they create another door into the industry.

But opportunity still meets preparation.

Do not wait until a major casting appears before discovering that you do not know your measurements, do not have usable photographs and have never practised your walk.

If modelling is something you genuinely want to pursue, build yourself before the opportunity arrives.

Then when the door opens, you are ready to walk through it.
